Collaborative Government Website
A Government client improved transparency and collaboration by leveraging Computech’s user experience and communication design expertise.
Challenges:
A Government client wanted to implement an online collaboration platform to enhance communication, interaction, and information sharing among a variety of end users. The website had recently undergone a redesign but needed to further leverage its online presence to conduct outreach to the community by applying industry standard interactive technologies.
Solution:
Computech followed a “people-centric collaboration” methodology combined with best practices in user experience and communication design to deliver a newly redesigned web platform, using Drupal, to engage different user communities. The online collaboration platform promoted outreach and encouraged participation across the community. Computech also leveraged its Search Engine Optimization (SEO) capabilities to ensure that the content on the platform appeared at the beginning of the search engines results pages on search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Adding social media components to the site also helped the agency participate in Obama’s Open Government Initiative by providing transparency, participation, and collaboration to the user community.
Notable Results:
The launch of the online web platform marked a noticeable change for the Government client, since they were now providing information in a more open and transparent way to their user communities. The platform also introduced multimedia and social media tools as a means of engaging users. The platform also allowed partners to openly collaborate with the agency and provide information to others in the community.
