Evident from long standing contracts with many customers, in a quickly changing technology climate, Computech has steadfastly demonstrated an ability to deliver on client needs. As the CEO, J.D.’s principal focus on reputation has established a 30+ year guarantee which today ensures clients receive both expertise and delivery of IT capabilities.
J.D. is a Founding Member of the Maryland Angels Council and currently a Director of the Assure Insurance Group. Actively involved in community charities, J.D. serves as a Director for Cathedral High School, MedStar Washington Hospital Center Foundation and the Catholic Charities of Washington D.C. He is a former board member of many organizations including the Sequoia, Harvest, ATM National Banks, Greater Washington Board of Trade, American Heart Association, and Chairman of the Maryland Technology Council. J.D. earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts.
Lawrence Fitzpatrick brings a 30-year track record of software delivery and transformational software management spanning academia, government, commercial software product development, and corporate IT. As a noted industry expert in IT application development and management, Lawrence leads Computech’s innovative application of commercial agile methods in bringing greater value at less cost to its Federal IT customers.
Previously Lawrence served as Senior VP of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). During a time of significant change in the financial sector, he grew and ran an application development team of over 500 individuals and was accountable for the delivery of numerous key systems. As the VP of Open Text Software (OTEX), Lawrence led delivery of commercial software products. As CTO at Personal Library Software, Lawrence spearheaded the development of search technology ultimately purchased by America Online (AOL). Lawrence holds a Bachelors in Biology from Georgetown University and a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
Filippo Morelli leads Computech’s strategy on agile and lean technology methods to maximize client value. Filippo’s hands on software development experience spans enterprise systems to shrink-wrap product, decision systems, data analysis, and extensive UX. In the last dozen years he has focused on building and transforming groups into high performing peer based agile teams and organizations. Filippo is both a Certified Scrum Master and Product Owner. With roots in California based software companies, he was working in agile teams well before agile practices had formal names.
Filippo founded Coincident, Inc. guiding clients through technology organization transformations. As the founder of bimmers.com he launched one of the Internet’s first successful membership fee based Internet sites. He is also the founder of 9Starts, a Northern Virginia tech entrepreneur group. Filippo holds a Computer Science degree from the College of William and Mary, along with graduate studies in technology management at the University of Maryland.
As the voice of Computech’s customers Fred Ackerman develops new accounts, ensuring alignment of Computech activities to customer priorities. Fred brings over 30 years experience delivering software product, integration and custom solutions to many of the largest Federal clients and countless Fortune 500′s. His innovative insights have been the cornerstone for many partnerships between service companies and their clients.
Fred’s leadership experience in complex data domains – from text search to workflow and business process management – is second to none. Many of these efforts have been on the cusp of enterprise transformations, where Fred has provided significant guidance in navigating challenging adoptions necessary to achieve new and necessary levels of business capability. He has been Vice President of Sales for Personal Library Systems, Hummingbird, Open Text (OTEX) and Appian. Fred holds a Bachelors of Science degree from La Salle University.
Mr. Mills has been actively involved in the Federal government defense and intelligence sector for over 20 years. Mr. Mills is a proven leader with vast experience in finance, operations human resources and contracts. When it comes to customer satisfaction he lives by the motto, “The answer is yes, now what is the question?” It is this mindset that helped enable his prior company to grow over 300% in the last 3 years under his leadership.
Prior to working at Computech, Chris served as President and Chief Financial Officer of CyberCore Technologies, a government contractor that specialized in serving the Intelligence Community. In 2010, Chris was given the honor of being one of 160 participants selected out of 3,500 nominees nationwide to attend the National Security Seminar at the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Chris also served as a board member for The Greater Baltimore Tech Council. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Finance from East Carolina University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Strayer University.
Kathy Voorhees, Executive Vice President of Program Management with Computech, Inc., has over 30 years experience in software development for federal and commercial clients. Kathy’s clients include the FCC, the EOP, the House of Representatives, and the Department of State. Kathy’s proven record for developing and implementing information systems affords her with an unmatched appreciation for the commitment required to continuously meet – and exceed – clients’ information systems needs.
Previously, Kathy was a project manager for Systems Consulting Services, Inc. and a programmer/analyst for Advanced Technology, Inc. and Dell Publishing Co, Inc. She started her career as a programmer for the Northrop Corporation and Automatic Data Processing, Inc. Kathy received her Master’s of Science degree in Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Montclair State University.
As a Senior Program Manager, Ruben is responsible for the successful delivery of solutions and services that meet and exceed our client needs. With 26 years of IT experience and nearly two decades as Computech’s lead technical manager, Ruben has guided Computech’s largest contracts, leading 130+ people across 20+ projects. His intricate knowledge of auction system design and development was paramount in the generation of nearly $90 billion in spectrum auction revenue for clients including the FCC, and the governments of Mexico, Australia, and Finland. Innovative technical solutions that deliver rapid client benefit without compromising the industry best practices have been his trademark.
Ruben’s early years were with Cincinnati Bell and National Association of Broadcaster. As our customers will attest, Ruben’s technical and team leadership delivering and implementing critical enterprise system solutions has been flawless. Ruben has a Bachelor in Computer Information Systems from Strayer University.
Gavin Martin is a dynamic, forward-thinking leader with 23 years’ history of driving excellence in large federal IT programs. He is recognized for delivering measurable results by maximizing efficiency through the improvement of processes, organizational change initiatives, innovative IT investment strategies, and proactive portfolio management. Gavin has adapted commercial-sector best practices to the unique challenges of the Federal agency setting and integrated techniques to maximize productivity and manage risk, while building a culture of transparency and collaboration with client teams.
Previously, Gavin was a Technical Delivery Manager for the Appian Corporation and a geospatial business intelligence practice lead for the Johnston McLamb company. He started his career as a database developer and supported such clients as the Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Postal Service. He holds a BA in Decision Sciences from Miami University.
